Notifications & Reminders
BookingPam automatically sends email notifications to clients and to you whenever something happens with a booking. You can also set up automated reminders to reduce no-shows.
What emails does BookingPam send automatically?
The following emails are sent automatically โ you do not need to set anything up:
- Booking confirmation โ sent to client when they book
- Booking confirmation copy โ sent to you (the vendor) for each new booking
- Cancellation notice โ sent to client when a booking is cancelled
- Reminder email โ sent 24 hours before the appointment
How do I set up automated reminders?
Go to Email Marketing โ Smart Reminders in your dashboard to set up:
- Rebooking reminders โ remind clients to book again after X days
- Birthday emails โ automatically wish clients happy birthday
- Holiday campaigns โ send promotions on major holidays
Can clients get SMS reminders?
Yes โ SMS reminders are available on the Starter plan and above. Clients receive a text message reminder before their appointment.
To enable SMS reminders, go to Settings โ Notifications and toggle on SMS reminders.
How do I send birthday emails?
Birthday emails are sent automatically to clients on their birthday โ but only if you have their date of birth on file.
How to collect client birthdays:
- Clients can enter their birthday on the booking page (optional field)
- You can add/edit birthdays manually from a client profile in the Clients panel
- When creating a new client manually, there is a DOB field
Can clients unsubscribe from emails?
Yes โ every automated marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. Clients who unsubscribe will no longer receive marketing emails (reminders, holiday campaigns, birthday emails) but will still receive transactional emails (booking confirmations, receipts).
How do I control which notifications I receive?
Go to Settings โ Notifications to choose which alerts you receive:
- New booking email
- Cancellation email
- Review received email
- SMS alerts for new bookings
